You will remember back in March we celebrated World Book Day, an incentive to encourage children and young people to read more. World Book Night is about encouraging adults to read. Reading is good for all kinds of issues from poverty to mental health, yet in the UK only 36% of adults read regularly. Over the course of 2 years over a million books were given away by 50,000 people.

Whether a child or an adult reading is important, it expands the mind, it educates and takes us away from everyday reality. It helps us to see our own troubled world in different ways, books can help us understand our own purpose in life and even be an encouragement to fulfil our dreams by giving us some understand to our own thoughts and ideas.

So if you are someone who reads regularly, maybe find someone who doesn’t and inspire them to follow your example.
