Bringing together this idea that creatives are entitled to work in safety, but they are also entitled to be safe at rest. I don’t just mean in their homes and town; I mean when cast and crew are on tour when they aren’t working.

One of the issues highlighted when it comes to digs was the safety of cast and crew, in particular young women. Safeguarding in any industry should be paramount, not just for children and vulnerable people but for everyone.

With many dig operators charging more then the industry allowance of £265, safety should not be an issue. So the first step in fixing the touring dig system to create an independent audit whereby dig providers are checked for basic safety?
